PRMS Gives Back to the Community for Mental Health Awareness Month

This May we honor National Mental Health Awareness Month, as well as National Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week from May 5 through May 11. In honor of these two important causes, PRMS is pleased to announce our support of The Trevor Project and share our appreciation for psychiatrists and all other physicians who work tirelessly to support the safety, mental health, and overall well-being of their patients. As a company supporting behavioral healthcare providers, we prioritize mental health advocacy and champion initiatives that promote awareness, support, and accessibility for all.

What is The Trevor Project?

Founded in 1998, The Trevor Project was established by the creators of the 1995 Academy Award-winning short film, “TREVOR.” According to the website, The Trevor Project is the leading national organization for crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning young people in the United States under the age of 25, a group of 1.8 million individuals. Providing programs and services such as a 24/7 crisis intervention and suicide prevention lifeline, and online chats and text messaging services with trained volunteer counselors, as well as suicide prevention trainings, workshops, and mental health resources to expand access to mental health services. The Trevor Project is also committed to research that brings knowledge and clinical implications to the field of suicidology. To learn more about The Trevor Project, support the organization, and get involved, please visit www.thetrevorproject.org.

How Can I Contribute to Mental Health Awareness Month?

Additionally, to show our gratitude towards clients and our support, this May PRMS is also proud to announce our second Refer a Colleague Double Donations month of 2024. For every referral PRMS receives between May 1 and 31, 2024, we will make a $100 donation – up $50 from our usual amount – to benefit the district branch or other mental healthcare organization of the referrer’s choice.

The Refer a Colleague program, launched in 2013 to show PRMS’ appreciation for our clients and all behavioral healthcare providers who refer and recommend our services to their colleagues, remains one of PRMS’ highest sources of new business. Since Refer a Colleague’s inception, PRMS has donated more than $81,000 to mental healthcare organizations around the country. Last year in 2023, PRMS donated a total of $12,540 to 50 different organizations, from district branches to national non-profits like The Trevor Project and American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

*Please note that your privacy is our priority, and information provided by the referrer and your referral will not be shared or sold to third-parties.
