Life of PRMS: Kathleen Miller, Director of Underwriting

My primary role as the new PRMS Director of Underwriting is to manage and mentor the Underwriting Team and provide expertise when evaluating and analyzing risks.  In addition, I am responsible for monitoring and maintaining the daily operations of all the underwriting team members to ensure compliance with the goals and standards of the organization.

In September 2017, I joined FAIRCO, a subsidiary of our parent company, TransRe, as the Director of Programs.  PRMS was, at the time, one of FAIRCO’s Managing General Agent (MGA) managed programs. In 2019, PRMS was acquired by TransRe and continues to be the entity that manages the Psychiatry Professional Liability Program, written on FAIRCO paper. In March 2022, I transitioned fully to PRMS and I look forward to getting to know our clients, partners, and community more closely to make sure we provide the best level of service.

As the former Director of Programs for FAIRCO, I was responsible for overseeing the PRMS Psychiatry Program, and developed a successful working relationship with the PRMS Underwriting Team. I enjoyed my interactions with this talented and seasoned group of underwriters! When the Director of Underwriting position became available, I eagerly applied - I was delighted to join the PRMS team and lend my underwriting expertise from a management perspective.

My favorite parts of my role are working day to day with my team, developing new ways to improve procedures, and working toward the common goal of continuing the future success of The Program, providing the best liability coverage and servicing for our clients.
