In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month this May, PRMS is tripling every donation we make through our “Refer a Colleague” program, from $50 to $150 per referral received! From May 1 through May 31, 2021, PRMS will donate to the state psychiatric associations, national or regional specialty psychiatric associations, or NAMI – regardless of whether a policy is purchased!
The first “Refer a Colleague” triple donation month PRMS launched was last May to support our mental healthcare community providing treatment in the midst of the global pandemic, and the second was October, both in 2020. Read the blog posts from each of our earlier promotions to learn why PRMS donates to mental health: May and October 2020.
We are pleased to host a triple donation month promotion for the third time since the program’s founding in 2013. In honor of May being a triple donation month, we also created a special logo, which includes three PRMS owls and signifiers the triple donations we are making this month. You can help us make even more donations to a mental health organization of your choice through the month of May by referring your colleagues to PRMS.
This month in honor of Mental Health Awareness, PRMS is also proud to support two organizations advocating for mental health in our communities, Kraftlove and Give an Hour.
Local to the DC-area, Kraftlove was founded by Anhvinh Wright with a mission of using art to “promote a healing environment in the hospital for sick children facing challenging circumstances”. Kraftlove partners with hospitals and other area organizations to provide creative crafting experiences, referred to as “a little love in every box,” to hospitalized children experiencing a variety of illnesses and treatments. These craft kits and art projects are designed and hand-delivered by Kraftlove’s network of volunteers. Throughout the pandemic, hospitalized children have faced increasing isolation, and Kraftlove provides creative outlets for self-expression that transform ‘each recipient’s hospital experience from one of illness to normalcy, joy, and healing.” To learn how you can support the organization, please visit www.kraftlove.com.
Give an Hour, which provides a virtual support network of volunteers who give free and confidential mental health care to those who serve, veterans, their families, as well as those affected by natural disasters and tragedies, has also providing resources and assistance to hospital workers and communities facing the effects of the pandemic in the last year. The organization focuses on three pillars – access to care, culture change, and mental health literacy – through a variety of programs and campaigns offered around the country.
